Shawn is a music educator and sound engineer in the day and a gigging musician at night. He performs on the drums, percussion and guitar. Shawn is known for his hand drum techniques and brushwork.
In 2006 his band Amber was top 10 of Mediacorp Channel U Super Band competition, and ever since Shawn has been performing at weddings, events and functions all over Singapore. In 2009 he performed for the APEC dinner, for world leaders and dignitries including Mrs Hillary Clinton.
These days he can be found performing at venues such as The Esplanade, Wala Wala, Beer Market, CMPB, Overtime, TAB, The Merry Men, China One and Indochine. Reinventing the Djembe and Cajon for today’s music, Shawn garnered a huge following online with his instruction videos, accumulating over a million hits.
